Benjamin studied Cinematography at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco before moving to Los Angeles in 2004. Feeling unfulfilled in the pursuit of mainstream Cinema and Fashion photography, Benjamin moved to New York city in 2011 to concentrate unremittingly in the field of Fine Art Photography. In New York, Benjamin began combining his passions for Cinema, Painting and still Photography which brought him to live, work and exhibit in France, Belgium and Russia as well as earn a one year residency with BAD (Belgian Artist District).

Currently residing in California, Benjamin is authoring “Photography and Composition” , a culmination of candid 35mm film photographs juxtaposed to his poetry.

French Pain is a series of 35mm film photographs exposed amongst the streets of Le Havre, France and New York City. This selection was exhibited at Galerie La Forme in Le Havre during the spring of 2012, while residing in Normandie.

Reflections & Projections is a two part Experimental Film combining mediums to capture the human condition of how we see ourselves in others and the way we unconsciously lay our expectations upon them. This Abstract Expressionism series of 35mm still photographs and two experimental videos were produced in Los Angeles and were premiered in 20” x 30” photographic prints and an array of 16 TV screens at Keystone Art Space LA, in July of 2019. http://www.keystoneartspace.com

The Mechanics of Intimacy (into – me - & -see)

The Mechanics of Intimacy is the third installment in a series of Experimental films exploring the process of realizing emotional responsibility. Through conscious integration of uncomfortable childhood imprinting, the causal point of human suffering is brought to light, revealing the pathway out of our self imposed prison.

The Mechanics of Intimacy examines the consequence of a dissonant relationship between the masculine and feminine energies that existing within us all.

“HEARTWORK”

Through the merging of 16mm film and HD Video, shot exclusively at night in B&W. This film explores the consequences of unintegrated childhood trauma, and its growth into adulthood by feeding on fear, anger and grief.
